My Mum Taught Me

Mum you don't show me any belief, pushing the unknown out of my reach, pulls my confidence deep down beneath, cause my ambition and dreams to cease. Your fear I'll fail prevents my turn, completing my tasks so I never learn, as though it above me gives me concern, I can't leave the nest I'll crash and I'll burn. Your talk of the unknown packs disastrous dread, activities all do fills my anxiety instead, though straightforward made cautious to tread, nervous are my thoughts without safety net. I know in my failures you'll hammer them home, powerfully teaching I am useless on my own, no push, you can do it or learn as you go, in pressure I stutter, I panic, I close. I learn situations when you're nowhere near , people encourage kind words in my ear, lighten the load helps my mind think clear, if I fail no stress but a humourous cheer. They say have another go, add water seeds grow, you say oh just let it go, shut the door and end the show. They show me instructions. A Knowledge Construction, Confidence, Happiness. You cause destruction!
