There’s nothing quite as refreshing as a walk on the beach in the morn. As the sun peeks over the horizon, announcing the new day is born. The waves endlessly lapping the shore, and the steady sea breeze in your face; the serene quiet of the early day, it is such a beautiful place. The gulls walking on the water’s edge take to wing as you come near. With the cool, wet sand beneath your feet, you face the day without a fear. The freedom we have is a gift from above, and there’s nothing quite as refreshing as walking on the beach in the early morn; we should be thankful for such a blessing.

Walking on the beach in the early morning, watching the sun rise is one of my favorite things to do though I haven't been to the beach in a couple years now. Thank you for visiting my first post on PS, Emilia, this brings a smile to my face. Hugs.

Thank you Sandy, it's always a joy to me when someone reads my early postings and it seems like for some reason in the past month this poem is being read almost daily, I'm not sure why...

This was the first poem I posted on PS but it wasn’t my first. The first poem I wrote was ‘Love and Friendship Through My Eyes’ which I posted later on PS. I wrote it in late April or early May last year. Thank you for giving me your support.

Hi John, I decided to view your very first poem on Poetry Soup. And I am so glad I did. This is write is so well written. I liked the peaceful and serene tone of this piece. The imagery is amazing as well. I've taken serval walks on the beach and if I could put the experience into words it would something like this. Well done :-) Alexis

Alexis, thank you for taking the time to go back and read some of my earlier posts, I'm glad you enjoyed this one. Walking along the beach in the early morning is one of my favorite things to do. We were supposed go to Galveston for vacation this past summer but it didn't happened. I wrote this poem to remind me of what I missed. I appreciate your support of my writing efforts, Alexis.

I just read your poem and I really enjoyed it. I love the solitude of the early morning. You seem to paint pictures with words, which I consider a gift from God. Have you ever read poems by Robert Hayden? He had a way of using descriptive words in his poems, my favorite of his is Those Winter Sundays. Welcome to Poetry Soup.

The serenity of an early morning walk on the beach is beyond compare; you should add it to your bucket list. Have a wonderful day.
