My Mind

My mind is a blessing from heaven so I try to keep my sanity, Constantly gaining knowledge of self that was lost back in slavery, I derived from a people well learned and diverse, As I brain wash my self to undo the devils curse, Its historically known that our strength and intellect sits in a class of its own, We did'nt start of at the bottom we reined supreme, The root of all civalization the origanal kings and queens, We were feared as a people and detrimental as a race, So you felt amongst your own a grave disgrace, How dare the try to poisin our minds, By befogging our vision you thought you left us blind, But sight is more than what the eyes percieves, Its the vision inside that you could'nt beat out of me, It was the belief in self that you could not taint, But my physical being that was kept in restraints, By bairring the truth and keeping it hidden, What once was dead has now arisen, You tried and failed to break our hides, It had an adverse affect it strengthened our stride and up lifted our pride, It made us see clearly that we had potential, To rise above degregation and live lives essential.
