My Little World

I found a lone wing --
the cat seemed sleepy
and content;
the mouse took an extra
swallow of whatever no
hurried breath to vent;
the sun had one less shadow
to cast less intent;
the tree branched a sign
cozy nest for rent --
and I continued raking….

Thank you, Empress; just a moment of time from my garden. I mean, we can talk about larger pictures of reality, but what is really more pertinent to our joys and fears, is our family and home. The outside world will go on the same no matter what we say and do...but our own backyards are precisely intimate to our hearts.

Life moves in its own pace. Did the cat eat the bird leaving just one wing? Now the cozy nest is vacant. It is ready to be rented out.... Did you mean any such thing. You yoke together disparate images and you are so good at it.

:))Hi Valsa; sort of all in there...I like to leave spaces for the reader to participate -- I hate when a poet tells me too much, as though I were a complete idiot (though I may be, but don't have to be continually reminded). Annoys me when a poet makes a little side note, telling me what the poem is about or trying to say -- the poem should convey meaning or it has failed. Just my opinion. Others may feel differently and rightfully so. Room for different opinions when comes to poetry. I like your interpretation here -- Spot On! Blessings my friend.
