One dark rainy night I found a black cat,
she was all black except for eyes of blue;
I decided to make her a sweet dress and hat,
it had polka dots and dots, dots, dots - ooh!
She refused to wear the hat- NO, she said,
but she loved the dress and walked around proud;
she liked it so much she wore it to bed,
when someone called her real pretty she bowed.
Of course, kitty, kitty, kitty had to- stay,
and her dot dress became her namesake name;
she walked with a strut, strut, sway and sashay,
and I treasure her photograph now kept in a frame.
