My Kitchen Clock

We have a kitchen clock that hangs Way high up on the wall. I bought it many years ago, But where, I can’t recall. I take it down two times each year To spring ahead or back, Then it returns to where it hangs To keep us all on track. Today, the clock stopped working So we checked the battery And were in for quite a shock - The date said 1993! My husband had a stash of C’s But none would do the trick. A new one from the store, though, Got the clock to start to tick. I’d worried that this clock of mine Was not long for this earth, But like its battery, I’d say I got my money’s worth!

Ha, ha. Great write, Ilene. And yes, you got your money's worth, for sure... Today there are lots of whistles and bells, but they poop out after a few years. Still using my 1968 Sunbeam toaster, I am. My wife fiddles with her new 'Fancy Dan.' Pure frustration for her. Peals of laughter from me. ~ Here's to the GOD = Good Old Days...

I have a clock like yours high on the wall, and before going to bed tonight I have to alter the time. You have certainly been lucky with the battery, but not surprised,; I too have had batteries that lasted a long time, but not as much as yours! ~ Regards // paul

Boy, I'd say you did! I'd like to know the name of the manufacturer of your battery...if it's been running since 1993 !!! My kitchen clock has a sunflower motif, I bought it at a flea market about 10 years ago, and it runs on a single AA...which I must change regularly once a year. It doesn't really keep good time all that well, though, so I have to rely on other devices when I'm doing kitchen things.
