Constanza
The Constanza, created by Connie Marcum Wong, consists of five or more 3-line stanzas. Each line has eight syllables. All the first lines of all the stanzas form an independent poem, and the rest of the poem expresses a deeper meaning. The first lines are in monorhyme, while the second and third lines of each stanza rhyme together. Rhyme scheme: a/b/b  a/c/c  a/d/d  a/e/e  a/f/f...etc. The end verse is made up of the first lines of all the previous verses combined.

After a long, exhausting day, I get anxious at quitting time, smiling without reason or rhyme. My boss keeps begging me to stay to work an extra shift each night; but I refuse, try as he might. And I always say there's no way; it may sound stupid or funny, but I'm not a slave to money. Life offers so much more than pay; like Cinderella at the ball, I've no time to sample it all. My inner child wants out to play; so before it changes its mind, I look to see what we can find. After a long, exhausting day, my boss keeps begging me to stay. And I always say there's no way; life offers so much more than pay, my inner child wants out to play.

Exquisite writing, Emile. Perfect format for the theme. I must give the Constanza a try. Best of luck to you in Chantelle's contest. Looks like a winner to me!
