My heart is full of everything I ever dreamed would be
like a tide that builds and builds, pulling out to sea.
When the wave comes into shore as life’s great tsunami
it washes in the boon and blesses ever part of me.
My heart could almost burst from years of useless loss
and curse the many times when lack of favor was the boss.
Life is not a chess game but a heads or tails coin toss
where you best laid planned out strategies may even have a cost.
My heart is full of hopefulness for futures yet to come
for brighter times tomorrow, under warmer sun
to wipe away the bad events that may just have begun.
I wish these blessings not for self, but for everyone.
My heart is full of thankfulness for every day I live
for all the things of loveliness that in each way God gives.
