My Goat Susie - Pet

My favorite pet was Susie the goat who had the softest pure white coat We purchased her when she was in kid the newborns copied what Susie did They devoured the grass, each on a tether but stayed in the shed in inclement weather Susie's favorite food was ripe bananas but she'd nibble the washing, even pa's pyjamas! She gave us many pints of sweet goats milk which was creamy white and smooth as silk It's been many years since I lost my pet Susie was a birthday gift I'll never forget! *****We lived on a small holding and I asked for a goat for my 13th birthday**** Write a poem about your favorite pet living or not poetry contest Sponsor Regina Riddle 10/10/19

You were lucky to have such an exotic goat dear lady, you should watch the movie called Stone Boy on Netflix, its about a boy who helps 3 pets survive. Congrats on your win Jan, a delightful poem at that.

- A really special pet, Jan :) - I always wanted a lamb ... but I didn't want a sheep ... nor eat it when it got too big ... I never got my "baby lamb" which "should always be small and cute" :))) - A lovely poem, congratulations on your win :) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

Congrats on your winning poem, Jan. To this day, I want to raise goats for milk and companionship. They seem such characters. You were fortunate to have Susie and her kids to entertain you and provide sweet milk. Hugs. Janece

When we got her we'd not been told she was in kid but from her bulging sides it was very evident and a few weeks later we were blessed with 2 lovely kids. The original owners lived in a terraced house with a paved yard so our small holding must have been heavenly for her and the kids:-) hugs Jan xx
