So Real

Listen to poem:
I dreamt that dream again it seemed so real and yet surreal It always was very dark I was near a cliff as waves crashed and crashed against the wall over and over again Nothing ever happened in my dream I was only nine still I wondered if it might mean something till one day it came to me… Mommy, I keep dreaming of when I was in your tummy I had somehow realized in my dreamworld I had found a way to cope with all the stressful changes in my little life being uprooted a significant move a new school It was my soul’s version of rocking my little body and reassuring me everything would be alright I had figured it out then never had the dream again AP: 1st place 2020 Posted in March 25, 2018

A very pertinent dream indeed. Very adult and yet child's play in the mind...

It truly happened - to this day I am amazed that at the age of 9 I figured it out myself. Once I figured it out, it never came back.

Thanks for you re-visit, Maureen. Yes I have written in French - the language of love. I will go back to it in a couple of years (a future phase).

Wow, I reread with your provided context, yup, fabulous poetry :) do you write poetry in both languages? I'm from "The French Quarter", while I have retained an understanding of how the French language works, I have lost most of it, but sure can tell a crappy French to English translation lol

Thanks for your visit and comment, Maureen. I had just started Grade 5 having moved from Quebec to an Ontario school not knowing a word of english.
