So Real
Listen to poem:
I dreamt that dream again
it seemed so real
and yet surreal
It always was very dark
I was near a cliff
as waves crashed and
crashed against the wall
over and over again
Nothing ever happened
in my dream
I was only nine
still I wondered if it might
mean something
till one day it came to me…
Mommy, I keep dreaming
of when I was in your tummy
I had somehow realized
in my dreamworld
I had found a way
to cope with all
the stressful changes
in my little life
being uprooted
a significant move
a new school
It was my soul’s version
of rocking my little body
and reassuring me
everything would be alright
I had figured it out
then never had the dream again
