Bingo!! 'How times have changed,' indeed! Now, these $%$%$#&^%y, spoiled kids have to have all the amenities (often paid for with OPM, of course) right away. ... My oldest daughter, for instance, had a house, which she couldn't afford, of course, at age 23. (I bought a house at 47, for the first time). … And so it goes... You have clearly struck a raw nerve here with this one, my friend. :) gw

Kids don't want anything secondhand... on the other hand, I see so many single women who retire and finally "treat" themselves to a $1K KitchenAid... too little too late - why the heck do they need it at this time in their life!

A captured moment in time; a great memory, beautifully penned.

I lliked this. You wake up the past... Felt like I was moving into my own private castle. I would go back in time if I could. Loved my freedom and privacy the most. To this day, freedom, the space to be fully me and yes, my privacy still count the most. Thank you Loved those old studio couches. And music before TV ..It was quite lovely.Love Bossa Nova and Latin Jazz, nothing has changed. Panagiota

Yes, Panagiota. Our stuff bogs us down. It's wonderful when we finally learn to balance and somehow move back to simpler times. Thanks for your lovely visit and comment.

"How times have changed!" We used plastic milk crates for end tables, and "made do with what we had" also. Oh, those wonderful days!
