My Dear Paulette

Ah, my dear Paulette, your sweet smile I’ll not forget Though thousands of miles have come between us The memory of you lingers in my aching heart yet. It was love at first sight when I met you on the bus But I knew it when we snuggled closely as night fell And there were few travelers left aboard, just us Holding each other tightly, whispering…I cannot tell, As miles rushed by, Paulette, we fell deeply in love So at dawn, when you got off, it was for me pure hell. Ah, my dear Paulette, your sweet smile I’ll not forget The memory of you lingers in my aching heart yet. written December 15, 2021

Pure fiction, Caren. But, I am intrigued, for some reason, by this Paulette character!
