My Day

They’re staring at me No. they don’t care They constantly judge me They don’t even notice you She’s laughing at me She’s laughing with you He’s looking at me ...he’s reading a book? I need to leave I’m shaking ...cold? Nervous. Calm down Music. I need music. ****. Dropped my ipod They’re all staring They didn’t even hear it Walking the halls is the worst Keep your eyes down. Left foot. Right foot. Just. Keep. Walking. I hear my name. Walk. Faster. Left foot. Right now. Damn. They caught up. Friends. Friends are good. Eye Contact Look at them. Listen. “Hey what's up?” Quick. Don’t be weird. “um.. yeah i’m good” Try again “Shut up.. No not you” you blew it. Breathe. In… Out…. School is over now. Go to your locker. Get Homework. I drop everything. People are staring. They’re helping you No. Don’t need help. Means i have to talk. Just say Thank You “uh.. You’re welcome.” ****. “I mean thank you” Finally outside. “How was school?” “It was good today” In the car. Safe now.
