My Country 'Tis of Thee

When children are taught never to forget conflicts’ lessons, to love all humans, to honor those through history who, selfless, wrought liberty. . . Then will spangled dreams for our peace be fulfilled as God imparts tomorrow’s grace on all. For Brahm Bailey's (Your) Country 'Tis Of Thee Poetry Contest Note: The Etheree form was created by Etheree Taylor Armstrong (Feb. 12, 1918-March 14, 1994). She was born in Arkansas, USA and is known for using this form a lot.

Amen my friend. But we can't just tell them we have to let them see it in our own lives before they will accept it in theirs. My mom used to say,"Do as I SAY do not as I do/" That's wrong because what you are saying to your children then is that you are a bad example to follow. But kids will always follow your example more than your words. Great job here. God Bless, JB

Very interesting piece and IRONIC because I have been quite busy working on project dealing with victims of the 2 Nuclear Bombs that were dropped on Japan in Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Both bombs instantly wiped out of 70,000 people in a few seconds....EACH. Hiroshima killed anywhere from 90-150,000 people...Nagasaki 70,000. A ton of innocent HUMANS!! Your poem STRUCK ME! A fave A SEVEN!

Andrea, I LOVE this! I especially liked the use of the word 'spangled' I can't see Dane NOT putting this sky high. Into my fave's it goes. Hugs --- This is basically my ambition as a mom. This is what I have been thinking but have failed to put into words. YOU ARE AWESOME.

This is a spectacular write my friend! I loved all the lines in this poem! I thoroughly enjoyed this write that I have read this evening Andrea! I believe that children are taught some of these things in grammar school and on up! They won't be taught of God in school cause it's prohibited...except for religious private schools!
