My Annual Christmas Goal
I’m Christmas Cat, I have a tradition;
I climb Christmas trees, it is my ambition.
Thirty-three I climbed last year, twenty before;
several dozen times, I’ve been thrown out of doors.
Celebrating wholeheartedly is my Christmas goal;
though all it gets me, is big lumps of coal.
I must break my record, each Christmas that comes;
despite of the sometimes, negative outcomes.
Somewhere deep inside me, I have this fear;
if I don’t climb the trees, Christmas won’t be here.
So I struggle and strive, to keep Christmas alive;
even though sometimes, I must take a quick dive!
