Musical Fate
I heard your music playing, outside the door
It took me to a place I haven’t been before
I went to leave and followed the tune
This beautiful sunny day, at high noon
Then I was standing in the sunlight, caught by your smile
I swear it could have carried me a mile
I was talking to a stranger, strumming his guitar
Our smiles flashing back and forth, never going far
Chorus
Suddenly, I had no-where to go, nothing to do
But stand in a parking lot, talking to you
That’s right, I had no-where to go, nothing to do
It was musical fate, making plans, with a musician like you
_______
Your eyes were filled with stars so bright
I would’ve followed you into a moonless night
Your voice was so familiar, but new
So soothing in the warm air, as I listened to you
Singing, moving, strumming your guitar
While I stood watching on the way to my car
Your eyes never left me, your smile never did fade
It was that moment, this memory was made
Chorus
Suddenly I had no-where to go, nothing to do
But stand in the parking lot, talking to you
That’s right, I had no-where to go, nothing to do
It was musical fate, making plans, with a musician like you
