Muse
Muse
My rhyming words are lost in time
And my muse is nowhere to be found,
The emptiness echoes through my mind
Leaving shallow thoughts of silent sound.
My mind is trapped in a house of bones,
And the skeleton has lost the key,
Only a muse with a rhyming tongue
Can break these chains and set me free.
Oh muse, oh muse where have you gone?
Do you hear them whisper in the wind?
Are the crossroads calling out to you?
Is there another lost soul to mend?
Poetic phrases flowed like wine
Now they are drowning in my sorrow,
The crossroads lead me to where i stand
I hope my muse finds me tomorrow.
Left smoldering and all alone
Like a flameless candle in the dark,
I closed my eyes and prayed for fire
Send a miracle to strike this spark.
