Mountain View
Across miles of land to see
Is a black ridge mountain view
High in the peach colored sky
Distinct as my memory of you
Some things are too far to reach
So, I reel them in with my mind
Comforting me in quiet stillness
From beyond what I can find
The wind speaks its language
In the rustling leaves around
Words I think you’re telling me
Fall to settle on the ground
I don’t want to turn away
So I keep on welcoming more
Surrounding me with such peace
That I’ve been longing for
