Moonlit Hours
"moonlit hours"
through echoing halls I walk in times of moonlit hours
peacefully and beautifully one man sleeps through the night
peeking in I enter slowly and quietly making certain all is right
to my amazement I'm experiencing illumination of a delicate kind
for all that shines comes from the light outside peering through the pane
the only sound is from a radio as the song "to where you are" gently plays
in my mind I'm thinking and longing to stay but time does not permit this wish
words that come to mind are "now I lay me down to sleep"
as I witness from afar as I entered slowly and quietly
I leave slowly and quietly knowing I've been blessed
never again will this moment appear or duplicate to such beauty and eloquence
thankful am I this moonlit hour of extraordinary lighting sound and peace

several years back when I was working and doing rounds
I came across this room and scene
I will never forget the beauty I witnessed in sight and sound
I was blessed
