MOONLIGHT UNDER GLASS

There was the last dance A final movement of the strs Through the heavens that No man can own The last night before roses When moonlight performed on darkened waters and promises were made Softly as the moment That would never come again The Atlantic was so old So deep in velvet mystery And words have never meant much To sleeping gods I wish now that Neptune had arisen His trident our judgement before dawn For then our vows would have taken The very wings of angels And flown so very far away

Between the first vows taken and the last, there is a long span. How well we live up to the vows alone matters. You have created an ethereal setting, dear Williams.

I really like the imagery in this one, William. Heavenly, to say the least. Thank you for sharing, Gershon

Hmmm... I read this twice. Is this a man who now has regrets for the vows he made? A union that went bad? Enjoyed contemplating this morning

it has to do with vows exchanged before death reared her hand into the mater.
