Monarchs

Monarchs are hatching and seeking flowers, Their gossamer orange wings fluttering wildly Then perching atop the pollinating towers. Monarchs are hatching and seeking flowers When it rains they look for sheltered bowers Beauty in perpetual motion, to put it mildly, Monarchs are hatching and seeking flowers Their gossamer orange wings fluttering wildly. Not sure if "gossamer" best describes a Monarch's wings? Where I live (not far from a beach) they appear by the hundreds every September to fuel up on Golden Rod pollen, then continue to some place in Mexico for the winter. / Maurice

As I understand it, they go to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I don't know for sure. As to "gossamer" it just seemed to fit for me as I watched them on the farm the other day with the sun shining on them.

gorgeous imagery; triolet is difficult and yet you make it seem effortless. Those of us who have tried it know better so how dare you!

Aw, shucks. Thanks, Caren, for your kind and thoughtful comment on my triolet. I love the form and use it fairly often, as you know. It seems to come fairly easy for me. I don't know why.

Milton, you did an excellent job. I'm still having difficulties with the Triolet form, but this one appears to flow flawlessly....and reads so effortlessly...Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much, Lasaad. I find them quite easy, and I love that they repeat three lines. It is the rhyme and the subject that is important, I think.
