Mom Sent a Sign

I will have eyes on you from heaven Mom said. I felt comforted by this, thinking cardinals of red. Messengers are sent from heaven every day. Right? Cardinals did not come, they stayed out of sight. Asking Mom daily for a sign, I began to get impatient. She was in no hurry, her own ways totally patient. A buckeye butterfly came to me in the summer and lit. On my finger, with eyes from heaven. I about had a fit!

No question about what that was! A cardinal sat outside my window and watched me as I had my coffee each morning for a month, then it was gone. I firmly believe it was Deb's spirit. Why then? What else could it have been?
