Molten Lightning

While thunder rolls over the scene,
bolts of lightning strike tinder trees.
Plummeting drops douse most ground fires;
but set by hot cinders, tree's crown.
Suety skies ink ebon clouds;
while thunder rolls over the scene.
Terrified of these thunderstorms;
critters flee the smell of burnt flesh.
Strong gusts, combined with swirling winds,
lift plumes of burning embers high.
While thunder rolls over the scene,
molten lightning ignites the sky.
Dwindling fuel brings fire's demise;
when the wind shifts upon itself.
For forest fires die over time;
while thunder rolls over the scene.
