Missing You (Tribute)
Tonight we all trembled at the thought of you gone
You did not get to see today's sunrise at dawn
Or smell the mornings dew on the fresh grass
the finger prints that are still left on your glass
the scent of it all what seemed so fair
has lost all of its beauty for you are not there
let the roses wither and winter kill off the season
as death feels nothing and took you for no reason
The love you shared remains with us all
and it reminds the weak to always stand tall
those merciful stars above have your smile
though we may all not see you for a while
in our memories nothing is stronger than this
hearing your comforting voice is what we miss
the soothing tone of your laugh echoed so sweet
our days and our nights are now incomplete
on this day onwards our tears are ever persistent
for we have lost perfection all in an instant
sleep soundly little angel for you did not die
you live on in our memories and all our goodbyes
In memory of Anastasia De Sousa, 1988-2006
I did not know you Anastasia but through my poetry I will remember you always.
