Miss Communication

There once was, a Miss. Communication
With pleasure she loved to communicate
Writing of love and the wonders of life
Her passion extreme and never sedate

Those afraid, of Miss. Communication
For she expressed herself with all her might
They banded together, to make their point
Miss Took, Mr. E and yes Mr. Right

Sadly the Kingdom, fell into darkness
For not a single note flowed from her throne
The sound of her music, could not be heard
Miss Communication sad and alone

So the town people, gathered together
Including, one who was Miss. Understood
We looked to her, in hopes of an answer
As she strummed on her harp made out of wood

Miss. Communication, rose to the call
For in the end she knew they were all friends
Because with passion, sometimes lines are crossed
Miss. Communication, never pretends

She felt real joy and her pen regained strength
Entering again, into the land of dreams
For within, our miscommunications.
It's true, nothing is ever as it seems!

Events of the last few days have left me feeling sad.
Things said that have left people I care about hurt.
Misunderstood people on different sides that are
really in the end not so different from each other.
Reconciliation comes from listening, in the end
each of us is looking for a place to belong and be
appreciated. Let us choose to act with gentle hearts
and kind words. Being loving is a greater cause than
being right.

I love the way you made the feelings into people. It is hard to watch those we care for hurting.

I think when you speak as you have, that it always has an affect, sometimes the message needs to be repeated, has to sink in over time, so sometimes we dont see direct results. It is never a waste to plant the seed of kindness!! :)

This was just majestically written, Richard... a truly enjoyable and inspiring poem. I am glad the town people did something about it to help. Coming together through hard times is vital, as well as being a good listener to the passionate people that are hurt and need to express themselves. Always, Laura

I dated a Miss Communication once, boy could she talk and talk and talk!!! Ok now for the serious part, this only shows what a kind heart you have, and I hope no matter who you are are, me included, you think of this poem anytime you wish to rush to judgement, I will add, "Being loved is better than being right" And when one knows that, isn't being loved what we all truly desire?

An interesting story, Richard. Lessons to be learned here, with plenty to spare. I guess Freedom of Speech is not that free after all. We've learned the Great Power of Words. With Great Power comes Great Responsibility. Now, who said that...:))) Nevertheless, it's true. Henceforth, we should all be vigilant of what comes out of our mouth...and pens, being poets, for that matter. Wishing you, and all of us, an environment where the talent can flourish and be nurtured. 7 Hugs and smiles!:) Kim

No one needs to be hurt by unkind and careless words We inherit our relatives but we carefully choose our friends. They are therefore doubly precious. Good for you to be standing up for the hurt in this world Love Mom
