Misguided Power
The day is overcast and gray.
My mood, sadly the same.
Recent news colors the day,
adding to the political game.
A voice of the past,
making his agenda known.
Past and present at long last,
together, accepting it as their own.
The plan was to make a change.
A transformation of our great land.
To come together and rearrange.
This administration lending a helping hand.
A new form of governing is on its way.
Our freedom, threatened from within.
The cost, we can not afford to pay.
Sadly we have allowed it to begin.
Many have died to keep this country free.
They can't have died in vain.
Do we not know what this is to be?
Freedom may never come again.
Government rule is not the way to go.
Does no one see the danger here?
Power of a misguided few will grow.
How can there be no sense of fear?
How many amendments will they revise?
We may not recognize the constitution at all.
How can they blatantly advise,
leaving all that we stand for to fall?
I am ashamed of what we have become.
Hatred has brought us here today.
Victims of the misguided power of some.
A place where we have no say.
How to stop what we have set in motion?
Do we have power of "the people" to resist?
A tidal wave is coming from the political ocean.
The United States Of America will cease to exist.
