Mise en Scene
(Mise en Scène* ‘meez on sen’ - French theatrical term meaning “placing on stage.”)
A word has weight
I weigh each word
lest the wrath of god
unbinds the bird
that holds the night
inside its throat
where destinies
of hate emote
pin my mouth
into a smile
and lock the words
into a vial
that sits within
the twisted vine
dereliction
deep design
hello! goodbye?
nothing to say?
in dream my words
will slip away
when deep in sleep
the mind takes flight
somnambulant
parasite
inside my mouth
a flake of moon
into my eyes
cold oceans swoon
heave and swell
my body seize
in silent! silent!
frequencies
hey there! hear that?
ah, nor do I!
pins of light
my lullaby
pierce the flesh
into design
inking shifting
paradigm
asleep I burn
myself no love
and immolate
the wounded dove
threshold
a catastrophic guise
unconsciousness
I weaponize
I do not mean…
that is to say…
duality
I whip away
there is no ‘I’
in enemy
but why am ‘my’
at war with ‘me’?
in enemy
both interlace
the super ego
face-to-face
I see me now!
now I am caught!
catastrophic
juggernaut
porous space
the now and then
god’s domain
the mise en scène
place my house
upon his sea
then breathe it
into mystery
