Mis-Educated

Nursey school and kindergarten were filled with hours of play 'Graders' first through third the 'Three R's' all day The rest of school was one big blur some teachers - ma'am; others - sir When we finished college at age 22 we felt ready, thought we knew what to do Only to find disappointment in our workplace debut ~ What we'd learned all those years just wouldn't do

A good one. Bright, shiny eager to learn 5 year olds full of brain channels that wait filled with new brain cells, little tabula rasas walking around. Sadly these children will soon be regurgitating teacher manual questions with blank stares and scripted answers. Blocks, crayons astray, brain cell building gone away.

I always say "I never learned anything at college" - I had to learn it all the hard way, on the jobs.

What I learned at college was that I couldn't wait to finish school, so that I could start doing something meaningful with my life, like pump gas or flip burgers...

I think..Wow thats a dangerous thing.' Maybe School is really a place to institutionalise..? People to accept most things imposed or going To be imposed.' Heavy taxes heavy intrusion by Simple peer pressure ridicule etc.? So I look at Youth over the decades.. And do I perceive less Independence of spirit.? What do others Think.?

As it has been said, "All I need to know I learned in kindergarten"... play, nap, share, be kind, look both ways before crossing. Everything else we learn OJT. Nicely put, GW ~ JW

Well In Greece after completing a university degree they are over qualified can't get a job and become a plumber. Sad to study all those years and learning that going into a big bad world you can't apply what you know at the end of school. Both situations bad. Blessings hugs Jennifer

Your real education doesn’t start until you leave high school or college. That’s never been more true than today.

I myself learned anything and everything of value from doing and experiencing. Thanks, Craig.

Yeah. I wouldn't have minded skipping algebra either. Don't know why I found it so hard, though...
