Mirror
Looking in the mirror he saw him looking up at him,
The innocence in his eyes shining bright,
His untarnished soul dancing with its shimmering light,
Angelic was a poor description of him.
A closer glimpse and a familiar face he seemed,
Perhaps from a long lost memory or a reminiscence of a dream,
That smile of his somewhat familiar it would seem,
Is this all real or has he dozed off and dreamed?
He gives him a closer look to speculate,
Who his mystery visitor in the mirror might be,
Alas could it be that he's been so blind to see,
His childhood conscience yet it's far too late.
A blink of an eye, the child is gone,
The tables have turned and he sees him,
The truth released from its prison within,
Like an arrow to his heart shattering that stone.
Looking in the mirror he saw him looking up at him,
Yet something has changed, this place is eerie and dim,
A wretched ghoul is remnants of the soul wheezing within,
For the child is has gone, banished within.
