Mind Your Language

Please mind your language when you speak to me Don't dare to cross my clear set boundary This life is hard enough without word wars So speak with good intent and don't leave scars I do not have the time for guess work, dear Make motive clear, your conversation steer to truthful words, for they are sure to find a deep connection that our souls will bind I do not care for feigned affinity, so mind your language when you speak to me Covert sarcasm does not have a place If that's your way, in my life there's no space Address me in the way I speak to you No more, no less is what you need to do I need to see if you are friend or foe A play on words just makes it hard to know Don't show me disrespect, or I will leave Won't wait to see what you have up your sleeve So speak up clearly, not with dark pretense, for if you do, you'll get your recompense Please use your words to heal and not to harm This type of speech enraptures with its charm Acknowledge good and cover up the bad This type of conversation makes one glad.
