Milestone
“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:3-6 of the King James Bible)
First time meeting brings surprises
both for the instructor and the learners
and I was not exempted from such mixed emotion-engulfment...
It was the commencement of my teaching vocation
and my faith fervently faced fears for firsts
in the classroom arena as a neophyte
marked with the role of an adviser…
That was more than three decades ago
filled with reminiscences worth basking for
of nostalgic “throwback” episodes, devoid of cuts...
Here am I now savoring wondrous greetings and messages
from that batch of eager students through the “facebook”
extending their love, and I feel like enclosed around God’s embrace…
Constant virtual chats with former students
strengthen all the more our vibrant relationship
from the once learner-mentor partnership in the school
toward great friendships blossoming well…
making me never regret becoming a teacher
indeed blessed by the Lord for such milestone.
