Midday Night
A most beautiful day, so calm; not a single sign of fright Everyone in the quiet neithborhood, so pleasant and polite
No doubt about it; indeed, it was clearly the noon day sun But then, very suddenly, our day turned into night with a stun
Not everywhere, but there, it was genuine Southern speech One must experience to appreciate; not something to teach
Then the heavens opened with a blast of thunder and frightning light There were electric streaks of energetic fire burning awesomely bright
Then came mighty pouring rain pounding the pavement like angry beasts Within a few minutes, the dark clouds disappeared, and the terror ceased
