Mid-Day

I saw the moon at mid-day,
Pale, behind the drifting clouds.
It seemed the day was muted,
As if whispers would be too loud.

I walked out into the desert,
Watching the shadows cast.
Perhaps the moon at mid-day
knows the secrets of the past.

The leaves of change are falling.
Tomorrow’s path is charted.
We see the moon at mid-day,
when the stage's veil is parted.

Beautiful and impressive in a magical way. I could almost see the clouds moving to reveal that moon(at midday). And thanks for your comment on my poem, the vintage jacket

Very descriptive and provocative description of the "moon at mid-day," Barbara. As "the leaves of change fall," such days are sure to be followed by dark nights as the moon has already made its trek across the sky in the afternoon. Great rhyme, rhythm and imagery, LNC! Love, Carolyn
