Notes About The Poem

Mid Summer Blues

we thought we were ready
till the unexpected fell upon us

such high expectations
for fun and adventure
plans for get-aways
excursions and discoveries

the days and weeks go by
another summer slips away

So true, Line, the summers always seem to end too soon when I was a kid. Nice poetry, my friend. Bill

just this morning I realized how summer is slipping away. EEGADS. So much we wanted to do...life gave us some curve balls that now prohibit us from doing some of what we planned. I can relate

I enjoyed reading your write. Pretty Picture... Guess summer is half over. I cannot wait for fall. I am tired of the 110 to 120 heat. Have a wonderful day writing away...............
