Mid-Winter In the Meadow

The meadowland is dry and desolate now Cold and dreary, for it is mid-wintertime Yet I know vegetation survives somehow The meadowland is dry and desolate now Enough for the critters nature will allow Still, I find the barren fields quite sublime The meadowland is dry and desolate now Cold and dreary, for it is mid-wintertime.

I had forgotten the word "meadowland" your poems are always reminding me of words I have forgotten so I thank you and Trixie is twirling a baton in your honor.

You tell Trixie to be sure she doesn't knock herself in the head.

Occasionally winter gives us a dry spell and grass dries off. Loved the imagery.

Thanks so much, Victor. I love the meadow, as you know. It is pretty desolate right now...and cold!
