Michael Jackson 1958-2009

Through my dark brown eyes, he was the best.
My heart knew he was better than the rest.

His voice was smoother than velvety silk.
His songs quenched my thirst more than milk.

Some people thought he was just a giant weirdo.
They didn't even give him a chance, how could they know?

The songs he wrote were absolutely brilliant.
They were really astonishing and different.

He was awesome and one of a kind.
He was number one in my mind.

Its a shame he had to leave so early in his life.
Feels like someone stabbed my heart with a knife.

He will always be my favorite singer.
In my mind, his voice will always linger.

I am done with this poem, it is finally finished.
He will always be forever missed.

They actually had a special on him where he was interviewed in neverland ranch one on one and didn't hold anything back. It definitely pried my eyes wide open to see how sensitive the man really was, and how much fear he had growing up of his father. Also for whatever reason the man was painfully shy. The king of pop, shy. Who would have thought...very nice tribute. If you wanna be startin' something may as well be something nice:)

Great tribute to best entertainer of all times. May he RIP. He will be greatly missed. I was a fan if not the biggest:I liked him when others were critical of the shortcomings. Truly an icon. Excellent piece.

This is the fourth tribute to Michael I've read today, each with its own slant. His was a musical icon. I hope he find the peace that seemed to evade him in this world. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us and for your kind comment on my poem. Keep on writing! Karen

His music was original, sensational, and uniquely vogue. He and I were the same age. I have been aquainted with his music since the beginning. I feel I have lost one of my closest childhood friends. One glove Jacko has left the building-AA
