Messages

Through the pelting freezing rain, a black crow cawed from a tree I wondered what it was saying or if it was speaking to me On fragile winter branches it sat, looking at everything below While I walked across the frozen land and loud crunching snow Language is translated with messages in so many different ways A message can be gently left in lasting memories where it stays Sometimes, we know the meaning and other times, not As we try to communicate, to reach what others sought Heidi Sands 2/7/20

Did you ever figure out what the crow was saying? lol If you are like me, when I say something it can only mean one thing. I tend to be very blunt. Always a pleasure to read your poems Heidi.

LOL. No, I never figured out what it said to me, as I walked by! Being blunt and direct is good. I like that DT. Thank you for your comment on this :)

Soft, gentle memories are the best, Heidi. Although our words can often be misconstrued due to a lack of understanding, our actions reveal our true feelings. And I admire the way you described the stowing of memories. Beautifully done, Heidi! Best wishes, Carolyn
