Mental Illness
MENTAL ILLNESS
Mental Illness is well defined and outlined
Manifesting in behaviors or frame of mind
An invisible pain not easily seen
Unless you’re aware and very keen
It manifests in different ways
Depending on the illness’s stage
One clue can be personality changes
Or it alter behaviors from happy to rages
Some might separate, isolate and hide
Or have their anxiety peak like a cresting tide
Others might becoming angry and dark
Lashing at others in a frustrated bark
Some are engulfed in worry and fear
Some so depressed shedding nothing but tears
Sometimes symptoms can last for many years
Full of high and low “euphoric” tiers
Lack of concentration is a sure sign
Or changes in appetite is the next in line
Others might feel helpless, hopeless, and tired
Making them feel lazy, undesired, uninspired
So if you feel any changes like this happening to you
Please reach out, speak up, and find someone to talk to
Someone you trust or a professional will do
To help guide you back to feeling like the old you
