Notes About The Poem

Entry for The What's your memory of nature? Poetry Contest: Sponsored by: Len Gasun  Date wrote 29th May 26

Memory-tree

The rustling of the leaves in gentle breeze;
the roughness of the bark that scuffed my knees;
the wonders I could view from up on high;
a place where I could run and hide to cry.

Terry, belated congratulations on your POTD and on your win! Not only did you capture the experience of climbing a tree but the embracing safety of its boughs when you needed a safe place to cry and find comfort with your arboreal friend. So well done! Cheers and blessings!

Hello Terry, Congrats on POTD! This brings back those early places we all carried around as kids. I like how you keep it plain and true, and that’s what gives it its pull. A good memory to sit with. Blessings, Daniel

Terry, a great nostalgic poem. As a kid, I loved to climb trees but now as an adult, I have the fear of heights. Congratulations on POTD.
