Memories Are Made of This

"How sweet to the heart are the scenes of my childhood" Samuel Woodworth, 1785-1842 I'd help milk the goat and feed our two pigs and loved being outside in the warm sun picking potatoes whilst my father digs We'd go to the coast it was so much fun, driving for miles in dad's Volkswagen car, dad would buy big ice creams for everyone! My primary school was not very far I'd walk there with my mother every day academically I wasn't a star! I was a tomboy, I guess I should say and never played with dolls when I was small I dreamed of throwing sis's Barbie away! Just a few memories, I can recall I have many more... but won't share them all Terza Rima Form Poetry Contest 10 syllables per line checked with how many syllables Sponsored by Constance La France 20/11/20

Loved the memories you shared with us. I was also a tomboy, I think I was the son my dad never had, and that is why he and I were so close, we did everything together. I was told off in primary school because every break time I would play marbles with the boys, and when there was a polio epidemic in Bulawayo, in the then Rhodesia, i should have rested every afternoon but spent hours up a mulberry tree, with a friend of mine next door always caught out as my lips and face were purple! Sounds idyllic Jan. I wonder if your sister collects Barbies on a Pinterest site? I do and have pinned over 10 thousand photos of Barbies.

Hi Jan, You had some great childhood memories. For some reason, I would love to milk an animal. I always thought of a cow but a goat would do too. Best wishes in the contest. Thanks for sharing your memories with us. Have a great weekend. Ps, The song was so fitting for this piece. I love Barbara Streisand's music:-) Alexis
