Veiled behind a curtain of white flakes Fall's scant sun fails to show its face. And while charcoal clouds gather, snowflakes begin to fall down on naked trees, as colored leaves lie frozen under foot. ~ Snow smothers Autumn's fire, reducing flames to ashes of white; loosely scattered about. And as Winter approaches a melancholy grey sky weeps for Fall, as it bleeds into the soil.

Oh my, this is one of my most favorite nonets that I've read for the contest! Dear Emile, I’m not surprised that this beautiful nonet comes from you, as you always paint imagery in such a detail oriented picturesque manner that gets readers to dream away and see right through your words in awe. I absolutely love the flow of this from the very first line but this stood out for me the most “ Autumn's fire,reducing flamesto ashes of white;” Congratulations on your well deserved win, thank you for sharing this impeccable take with us.
