Meeting Halfway

On such a winter’s day
The sea and sky dark grey
My hair in disarray
I taste the salty spray
And though so far away
Your words I still replay
With aching heart I pray
That you’ll return to stay…
So come, let’s meet halfway
Forgiveness on display.

I can understand your reasoning, Jenny, and I know that to forget is just about impossible, but in reality the idea is to forgive without holding any resentment. ~ Thank you and have an enjoyable weekend. ~ Warm regards & hugs // paul

It does take two people to forgive and it usually involves a meeting of the minds with some concessions on both sides. If I loved this man, I would give it a second chance. Beautiful monorhyme, Paul. Best wishes in the contest! Hugs, carolyn

Even when someone hurts me, I know God wants me to forgive. It's not always easy at first, but the hurt passes. It's a good man who is willing to meet "halfway."
