Meet Me At the Ball
The look of longing in his eyes was gone
His last words made me feel so small
But I found a way to love my life
with a will and strength to survive.
I walked through the streets ,from the early dawn
Chin up , facing adversity, I walked standing tall.
Because for me there's a life full of plenty
I'm still gonna waltz at the ball
Its a life full of colours with few precious hours
I'll make each hour count,Once lost, now am found.
Would not be let down, nor be a puppet or a clown.
I'll drink a bacchus of words , and sing every verse
with a chorus of little birds, next to the red cottage door.
I 'll meet someone new 'neath the moonlight
Ill meet him by the waterfall
The wind in the trees will blow melodies
While we dance ,sweet and slow
while we sway till the music is gone.
I'll make garlands from white orchid flowers
I place them so gently around his neck
Its a sign , a reaction, filled with a welcome affection
Hundred velveteen petals I lay on his bed.
Because for me there's a life full of plenty
I'm still gonna waltz at the ball
Its a life full of colours with few precious hours
I'll make each hour count. Once lost ,Now am found
Would not be let down, nor be a puppet or a clown.
I'll drink a bacchus of words, and sing every verse
with a chorus of little birds, next to the red cottage door.
PS- This lyric poem was inspired by music and poetry.
