Meant To Be
Every morning she wakes up with her phone filled
With the sweetest of messages
He never misses a chance
To tell her she's beautiful
Or how much he loves and misses her
And her morning starts with a smile
Coming up on their 3 month mark
Their relationship has really been put to the test
Yet they found a way to make it thru
All the things that were meant to tear them apart
And now they are living what feels like millions of miles apart
Though the distance is killing them both
Still they are holding on strong
When she starts to miss him most
She looks down at her left hand
Where the most beautiful engagement ring sits
It hasn't left her hand since the day he put it there
She smiles to herself as she thinks of him down on his knee
With tears in his eyes he tried to explain his love for her
She wanted to smile and she wanted to cry
He has always had a way with words
She pulled him closer and wrapped her arms around his neck
She vowed then and there to never let him go
Her decision to leave wasn't easy
And every night when she lays down to close her eyes
That’s the time when she misses him most
He calls and text all the time
They even set up dates on Skype
But nothing beats the things she misses most
Like being wrapped up in his loving arms
The feeling of his warm embrace
Or the way she'd fall asleep with her head on his chest
And the last sound she heard for the night
Was the sound of his heartbeat
The one that beat for her and her alone
She took for granted all those nights
The ones when he held her close
And reassured her everything would be alright
Their late night talks and early morning walks
All the little things that meant so much
He awaits her return
And she can't wait to get back home to him
To marry the most amazing man
That she's lucky enough to call her own
The man she could never imagine her life without
He truly means the world to her
More than anyone ever has
And he's better to her than anyone ever has been
She truly is the luckiest girl in the whole wide world
And would be so proud to become his wife
Her love for him is as strong as it could be
He is her now and forever
And forever is what they plan to be!!!!
