Me Pretty Parrot

Me Pretty Parrot Ma'am, me pretty parrot! Your favorite pet ever grateful, cool calm, in your garden flying cheerful facing no harm, also well set enjoying full freedom. I remember that pitch black night Heavy showers and violent storm were in fight. A baby bird fell from nest with broken wings. You picked me while returning from morning walk. You had put me in an open cage at a corner of your dining hall and nursed me till my wounds got healed. My gratitude was sealed. You cared me with much affection beyond my expectation surpassing my satisfaction, providing food , water and applying medicines. Slowly I regained strength with wings perfect and fit. I flapped and you clapped. I flew out of the cage in delight. Flying to your garden I sat on branch of Flamboyant tree. Flock of sparrows chirping hopping chasing pollen scattered on ground. Three sterlings chattering quarrelling while picking insects as food. At your gate stands big Banyan I was tempted to taste the red fruits small and round. That was the first time I collected food on my own. Felt proud being full grown up adult. You were watching me through window I rejoiced as you voiced ' Well done my sweet child.' I discovered a crow couple busy in making cosy nest on the large Neem tree. A pair of Cuckoo was off and on visiting your garden. Few doves and pigeons were chuckling giggling. I alerted them with my shrill whistle. I joined the dynamism going on and enjoyed the day with thrill and excitement. As Sun went down and dusty dusk slowly merging to night I felt home sick and returned to my open cage to sleep with sweet dream of next dawn. Ma'am! No 'Ma'am'! '. Rather I will call you 'Mother' Being your pet feeling Great. 06/19/22 Personification- Pets Talking Contest by Constance La France.

Anisha, your heartwarming story brought tears to my eyes. I think birds should be free to fly and not locked in a cage. It is so wonderful that your sweet bird felt safe enough to return to his cage to roost. It shows how he trusts you to keep him safe and let him have freedom too. Congratulations on your win. Blessings xxoo
