May We Be Brave
This world is changing so very rapidly
Even though these troubling times are grave,
may we not fear, and may God make us brave.
Presently, I'm not quite sure what to make of it,
But I'm certain that God's got this, and He's got that.
In fact, God's got you and me, and He loves us dearly.
Today is very different, but by no means is it a mystery.
This day, March 15, 2020, I shall record for church history.
It was a rainy Sunday morning,
so different than any I have known.
It was not the gently falling rain
that spoke of so much change.
There was something very unsual
about that morning, such that I had
not experienced in all my 70 years.
Oh, it was not new nor strange to history,
But just to me and others in this modern age.
Nor is it strange to many Christians in other lands
who are persecuted and forced to worship in secret.
The doors of our own church facility are shuttered today
due to decisions surrounding the coronavirus epidemic.
Not all church doors are thus, which may be a matter to discuss.
Many believers of distant lands have always met in their homes,
and many meet in hidding places away from local authorities.
Indeed, a rainy Sunday morning, so different than any I have known.
