Notes About The Poem

Maui

Maui

Private pristine beaches engage with the sea
Elevate one's senses to highest degree.
White froth from the waves on the light golden sands
Is spread out as if snowflakes, etched by God's hands.

The azure and teal sea reflected from sky
Where white misty clouds drift quite aimlessly by.
Enchantment surrounds and romance fills the air
To be lost in paradise without a care.

This island's pure allure cannot be denied
In luxurious features it will provide.
Bask on her beaches, swim in her aqua seas
Then sup with natives under cooling palm trees.

Waterfalls beckon through adventurous trails
Then sail off into sunset watching for whales.
Maui "the valley isle," a nickname in tune
With its high cliffs and shadows lit by the moon.

Hi Connie, a lovely poem. I've never had the pleasure of visiting Hawaii but would love to go. Maui, would be my first choice of the islands. I did live in Puerto Rico for a couple of years. I was a tour guide there and the island is beautiful. My sister will be visiting the Big Island this coming year and someone I work with spent Christmas at Aulani, the Disney resort in Oahu.

Each island is unique. We own a Timeshare at the Aulani and take our 5 yr. old granddaughter there every year. They have Disney characters and the kids love it. Maui is beautiful, but I am partial to Oahu. I know all the secret places to go. Thank you James. Aloha, Connie : )

Just came to say hi. Hope my email was not too much a downer. It is just so strange to me how this new year is opening up with so many calamities within my family's and Joe's in just the first week!!

Not only am I glad to see that your muse stirred, I am delighted this is what you wrote. So lovely that it calls me and I long to oblige. I've seen Oahu beaches, but not Maui's, so that is where we shall all eventually meet! You captured the beauty and served it to all readers, I thank you! All the best in all things, contest, as well. Love ya ... CayCay
