Marcel Duchamps Nude Descending a Staircase
Like a fugue
atonally configured
with many voices
she descends with
over lapping kegs
optically disfigured
yet step by step
in sequence
she moves as naturally
and just as easily
as you and I –
except modesty precludes
our descending in the nude.
