Duke’s leather leash remains where it always hung on the hanger by the kitchen door. I feel lonely without him by my side but his paw prints are ingrained in my heart Double Tetractys 4 Poetry Contest Sponsored by Eve Roper 10/11/20

Jan, your hanger reminds me of Barbara Woodhouse and her famous catchphrase 'walkies".. Your creative pen spills poignant ink, Jan. Indeed, our beloved dogs' paw prints are ingrained in our hearts for sure and forever. Congratulations for your excellent win in Eve's contest.. ~Susan

Your fiction sounds so true, I have to read the other comments to make sure my decision and comment would be correct. I got attached to one of my dogs, (real) and she died of Leukemia at thres years old, her heart was gold, I will never forget Coco, In fact it is listed as one of my best poem - Hello and Goodbye Coco. Great write Jan, Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.
