Man Cannot Be Woman, Woman Cannot Be Man - Iii
Alex had been born a woman,
but now declared she was a dude,
she had been on testosterone
for years, since she turned twenty-two.
Her college had supported her
as she had made the transition,
it had not been an easy task
learning of the male condition.
Now she was out in the real world,
had her first job, was on her own,
and like most people everywhere
had a need to not be alone.
She was excited to go out,
to find a woman she could love,
but Alex wasn’t settling,
wouldn’t go out for anyone.
After many weeks of searching,
swiping right, left, and all of that,
she found herself a girl online
with whom it was easy to chat.
For weeks they talked, getting to know
more about the other person,
when Alex suggested they meet,
the girl said, “Let’s do it! Game on!”
Alex prepared for the first date,
thinking of all that she should say,
nervous as anybody is,
but eventually made her way.
When she got to the coffee shop
she saw the sweet girl sitting there,
a cute young thing with dimpled cheeks,
and long, satiny, cole-black hair.
She paced up and started speaking,
but the girl looked rather alarmed,
said, “I’m not gay, and if I’d known
I wouldn’t have driven so far!”
The girl shook her head and stalked off,
shocked in place did Alex then stand,
a man cannot be a woman,
a woman cannot bet a man.
